SIM missionaries raise prayer and financial support from churches, friends, and others who commit to partner with them in ministry. SIM receives and administers donations for our missionaries on their behalf, including sending receipt acknowledgements to missionary partners.

We work with each missionary to develop a support agreement suited to their needs, including a budget for their set up costs, living expenses, emergency contingency and retirement savings.
We also support our missionaries through prayer, orientation training, pastoral care, and by raising awareness about their mission work.

Questions About Donation

In our last fiscal year SIM spent 20% of income on administration, fundraising and personnel. Learn more about our stewardship

We are committed to godly stewardship and integrity. We greatly value the trust and confidence of our supporters and missionaries recognising that it must be actively earned and kept.

We comply with the standards of Missions Interlink and we are independently audited annually by  Shedden and Green Chartered Accountants.

SIM International has an internal audit function and routinely monitors financial and operational integrity of SIM sending and field offices across the world. These internal audits help ensure that all programs are meeting the highest standards of financial accountability and integrity. Any concerns are documented and brought to the attention of management for action and follow up.

SIM needs to issue a custom reference number for each missionary or project you wish to contribute to via direct deposit. This is so we can ensure that we allocate your gift to the correction designation.

If you would like to set up a direct deposit for a missionary or project fund, please contact our Partner Relations team on 1300 746 580 or via our contact form

When a missionary completes their term of service and returns home permanently, they and SIM will contact you and their other supporters to let you know their situation.

When this happens, the missionary may need your prayers and financial support for up to 6 months after they return to Australia while they adjust, rest and look for employment.

If you are able to continue supporting the missionary, it will be greatly appreciated! SIM Australia and the missionary will let you know when they no longer need support. You can, of course, change or cancel your pledge at any time by contacting our Partner Relations team on 1300 746 580 or via our contact form

Yes. Missionaries return to Australia for home assignment after each term of service. They need your prayers and financial support while they are in Australia.

During this time of rest and recuperation, they will receive a debriefing and re-orientation at the SIM head office. They will also connect with their supporters to share what God has been doing through their ministry. Missionaries may use their home assignment for raising additional prayer and financial support if needed, and may pursue additional training/education opportunities.

If you are able to continue supporting the missionary, it will be greatly appreciated! SIM Australia and the missionary will let you know when they no longer need support. You can, of course, change or cancel your pledge at any time by contacting our Partner Relations team on 1300 746 580 or via our contact form

Although extremely rare, sometimes a missionary appointee withdraws or delays their application to go to the field.

If a missionary appointee withdraws, they and SIM will contact you and their other supporters to let you know their situation.

SIM will put a hold on the missionary’s account so no further donations are processed. We will contact you to offer you a full refund of your donations. We will also offer to redirect your gift to another missionary should you wish to do so.

Although rare, sometimes a missionary must end their agreed term of service prematurely. This could be due to a variety of reasons including civil conflict or natural disasters, illness/injury, family or personal situation, or insufficient financial support.

If a missionary returns home prematurely, they and SIM will contact you and their other supporters to let you know their situation.

When this happens, the missionary will need your continued prayers and financial support until such time as they are able to again return to the field. If their situation changes and they are not able to return to the field, or other ministry with SIM, SIM Australia and the missionary will let you know. You can, of course, change or cancel your pledge at any time by contacting our Partner Relations team on 1300 746 580 or via our contact form
