From Ecuador to Sydney

Wednesday, 22 June 2016 From Ecuador to Sydney

Congratulations to Diego Herrera, recipient of Sydney Missionary & Bible College's first scholarship through their 100 for 100 campaign. Diego is studying at the college's campus located in Sydney's Inner-west and has just passed his first semester of a three year Master of Divinity degree.

Diego is from a small country town in Ecuador and was endorsed by SIM Australia missionary, John Woldhuis. John, alongside his wife Karine and family, are serving God in Ecuador through a ministry that trains and disciples Christian leaders. It was through this ministry that John first met Diego in 2007. Diego then went on to assist John in his role of training South American christians to equip the Church.
John said,

"Diego has a deep desire to study God's word at a much deeper level than is available in Ecuador. The goal is for Diego to return to Ecuador to work with pastors and leaders in his own culture after completing his studies."

Diego hopes that by receiving further Biblical and theological training he will be able to more effectivley continue his discipleship role when he returns home. Diego said,

"The opportunities for the Gospel and discipling new believers in Loja, Ecuador are immense!"

Join us in giving thanks for how God is equipping his international church!
